Paramount Skydance Set to Eliminate Nearly 2,000 US Jobs – Update

Skydance Paramount will start large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 US jobs under a expense reduction strategy totaling $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.

These job cuts are a result of the combination between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August worth $8.4bn.

Additional global layoffs are likely, as the firm intending to disclose all specifics during its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.

Earlier reports suggested that Paramount planned to eliminate from 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by the beginning of next month.

Until December 2024, Paramount employed nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 temporary project employees.

The organization has not yet commented regarding the report.
